Reduction In Complaints Against Recruitment Agencies
Less serious complaints against Recruitment Agencies were made in 2007 compared to 2006
There has been some positive news announced for recruitment agencies, with a report indicating that the number of serious complaints lodged against recruitment agencies fell in 2007.
The report compiled by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) revealed that although general complaints lodged against agencies rose by 20%, the number of serious complaints dropped considerably. In the year 2006 a total of ninety four serious complaints were logged, this number fell to twenty four in 2007.
Serious breaches tend to cover issues such as agencies acting on behalf of their clients without the correct authority, or any unlawful deductions of pay.
Out of those workers who made the serious complaints, temporary workers were accountable for 30% of the cases, a reduction from 50% the year before.
