Located upon the estuary of the River Severn, Bristol is south-western England's largest city. It is well served by motorways, main-line rail links, and Bristol International Airport. Official estimates made in 2006  (based upon the 2001 census) indicate that the population was around 410,000.

The history of Bristol dates back to Anglo-Saxon times, and as a result it now has a rich historical heritage. After being one of Britain's major sea-ports for several centuries, it branched out into the aerospace industry in the twentieth century, and is now a large commercial centre.

According to the BBC, in May 2008 the average house price in Bristol was around £204,000, with the change in the previous quarter being listed as -6.5%.
