Recruitment agencies flooded with graduates.
According to recruitment firm People Unlimited graduates are flooded recruitment agencies seeking work outside of the private sector as a result of the credit crunch.
Natasha Waas a director at the agency explained that the credit crunch has forced many companies to stop taking on new graduates and halt their recruitment programs.
As a results it would seem that many are approaching recruitment agencies looking at other sectors such as the charity sector. Ms Waas describes many graduates as complacent believing that because they have a degree and perhaps have experience of the private sector that jobs in the charity sector will be a soft target. Many are finding that, in fact, this isn't the case. Recruitment agencies need to work hard to manage the expectations of graduates looking for new work in today's conditions.
