Recruitment Agencies Reveal Decrease In Skills Shortage

Leading Recruitment Agencies survey reveals a decrease in the amount of skills shortage compared to last year.

According to Manpower, one of the leading recruitment agencies the amount of skill shortages suffered by employers is becoming less and less.

Compared to a figure thought to be around 34% in 2007, the number of skills shortages for employers has eased to around 12%.

However it is not all good news, with 31% of employers worldwide are struggling to fill roles.

Amongst over two thousand of the employers questioned in the survey, it revealed that in the UK, the more problematic of which are said to be skilled manual trades, labourers and Chefs and cooks.

According to the Manpower annual talent shortage survey, one in eight employers (roughly 12%) are having difficulty recruiting the staff they require.

Despite this the amount of employers that are recruiting the right standard of staff is improving.
In a somewhat surprising discovery, Information Technology Staff and nurses are also becoming increasingly difficult for employers to find as they entered the top ten list of most difficult sectors to recruit within.

The managing director of Manpower in the UK Mark Cahill commented that due to the reports of economic uncertainty, workers tend to be wary of moving companies and into different roles.

This is also resulting in companies offering their existing staff more opportunities in different roles.
