CV spelling worst annoyance to recruitment agencies and employers
A new survey has shown that over 50% of CVs are present to recruitment agencies and employers with spelling mistakes.
The revelation should send out a warning to all job seekers, the vast majority now posting there CV for the world to view on the internet. Given that the CV is the first and only opportunity to create an impression, it's a very simple way of portraying yourself as sloppy and inefficient.
In the age of computers and a spell check there is no excuse to present CVs to recruitment agencies with mistakes, although US spell checks with red lines under correct words can cause confusion, ultimately candidates should at least get friends an relatives to check spelling before submitting into a recruitment process, or indeed posting up on a jobs board.
