Jobs in recruitment – jobs boards
Jobs in recruitment have changed in recent years due to the advent of jobs boards.
Ten years ago, people were still getting into the swing of things, and websites were a posh luxury to show off rather than an essential business tool for every business on the globe, but how things have changed!
Before jobs boards, paper based advertising meant that the entire recruitment process was very much longer. a paper advert with a closing date, hand written applications, or at best word processed applications posted by snail mail kept application numbers down and meant the first stages of the process were weeks not days. Now, the technology built into jobs boards has reduced the entire recruitment process, potentially, to days not weeks.
From a candidates perspective, they no longer have to invest much time at all to look for new jobs. A simple registration on a recruitment jobs board can result in automatic e-mail and text alerts when matching jobs in recruitment are posted. Once these alerts are received, rather than having to set aside time to apply to a given role, the candidate can apply for jobs in recruitment at the click of a button, sending a pre-prepared letter of application and CV. The candidate has no need to browse hundreds of jobs in recruitment on a website, once logged on, a system can recognise their profile and form a live jobs basket to suit, making the identification of suitable positions quick and easy.
From the recruiters perspective, they no longer have to sit and hope for someone to see their advert. They no that on posting their job advert, it will be sent via e-mail and text to matching candidates to prompt their application. Recruiters can now realistically post jobs in recruitment, and expect applications within minutes of the posting, the vacancy having been mailed and sent by text to suitable candidates. Some may have applied instantly through hitting one button on their mobile phone!
Most recruitment jobs boards also sell access to a CV database, giving open access to hundreds of thousands of potential candidates all of the time.
In summary, the advent of recruitment jobs boards has drastically reduced the time taken to fill jobs in recruitment, in addition making it far easy for the candidate to move around within their market place. The end result, a more fluid jobs market in which employers will have to fight harder to get good people, and even harder to keep them. Recruitment agencies no have tools which can turn around placements in a fraction of the time....but they'll need to to prevent someone else getting there first.
